Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross This was recommended by Stephen King and part of EW's Must List so it was a no brainer for me. Three relationships and no wife is spared. Great death stories are always entertaining...or maybe I'm just really twisted.
The Long Walk by Stephen King This was published in 1999 and I have NO idea why it took me until this year to find it. I credit my Nook as I don't believe I would have found it had I not been shopping on it. This is The Hunger Games before it was even a thought. And a better story in my opinion.
Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned by Wells Tower I am only half way through this book but I'd say go for it. It's a book of short stories (which I'm drawn too) and they all end in a random, unexpected point of the story. And anyone who knows me knows I scream about Hollywood endings and how I hate, HATE unnecessary wrap up (I still believe Say Anything is the best ending to date). These stories definitely have NO wrap up. |
